Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using Our Service.
The ADHD Health Clinic reserves the right to determine suitability for accepting individuals into our care program. We are not required to provide a rationale for the refusal of service if we believe our clinic is not suited to meet a prospective patient’s needs.
At the ADHD Health Clinic, we are committed to treating every patient with respect and dignity, ensuring equitable treatment without bias based on age, sex, gender identity, or any other protected attributes.
We prioritise the confidentiality and privacy of our patients’ information. For detailed information on how we handle personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
The ADHD Health Clinic may share necessary information regarding your diagnosis and treatment with other healthcare professionals or entities involved in your care to ensure coordinated and effective treatment.
Our clinic conducts comprehensive assessments and, when necessary, may refer patients for further evaluations or tests with specialised professionals. Treatment will only begin after a thorough review of all essential diagnostic results and specialist consultations.
By scheduling an appointment with The ADHD Health Clinic, you accept and agree to adhere to our terms and conditions.
You are required to fill out pre-assessment forms and any other necessary documents completely and accurately prior to your appointment. It is essential that these forms are submitted back to us promptly. Failure to return completed forms in a timely manner may result in the postponement or cancellation of your appointment until all required information is provided, or prevent us from delivering services that are appropriately tailored to your needs.
You are also responsible for obtaining any additional tests or specialist evaluations requested by our clinic, which may involve additional costs. You must submit all results to The ADHD Health Clinic promptly. Delays in providing these results may postpone the start of your treatment or prevent it entirely until it is deemed safe to proceed by your doctor.
It is your duty to inform the ADHD Health Clinic of any changes in your medical or mental health status, as well as any significant changes in your personal or social circumstances. We cannot be held liable for any negative consequences that may arise if you fail to provide this important information.
Please ensure you communicate with us in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Our appointments are held in person at The ADHD Health Clinic, Charterhouse Clinic London, 98 Crawford Street, Marylebone, London W1H 2HL. We ask that you arrive on time for your appointments, as lateness may lead to the rescheduling or cancellation of your appointment without a refund, or the need for an additional appointment to complete your consultation.
The ADHD Health Clinic is dedicated to maintaining a high standard of care for all our patients. The well-being of both patients and staff depends on a respectful relationship between all parties involved. As such, we enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse directed at our staff.
Should any communications be deemed abusive, which includes unduly aggressive or overly critical language towards our services or personnel, we may terminate our services to the involved individual. This action may be taken without a refund for services already rendered. In situations where service is withdrawn due to abusive behaviour, we may, where feasible, direct you to an alternative provider, though we are not obligated to do so. This policy does not affect your right to make legitimate complaints, and our complaints procedure remains open to you.
If a patient is found to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs during an appointment, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the session without prior notice or refund.
The ADHD Health Clinic will not tolerate threatening or violent behaviour towards any person involved with our services. We reserve the right to end an appointment and, if necessary, seek police intervention in response to such behaviours.
The ADHD Health Clinic does not provide emergency medical services or crisis intervention. We are not equipped to handle patients in emergency situations or those at high risk during or outside of regular business hours.
If you experience a severe deterioration in your mental health, such as suicidal thoughts, intentions of self-harm, harm to others, or if you are in danger from others, it is important that you immediately inform a relative or carer. For immediate assistance, contact your local NHS Crisis Team, visit the nearest A&E department, or dial 999 or 111 to reach an ambulance or the police.
There may be instances where our consultants determine that your needs surpass what can be provided. In such cases, we will direct you to a specialised service that can offer the appropriate level of care. This referral is aimed at ensuring you receive the most effective and comprehensive treatment for your condition.
Charges and Payment Deadlines
All services offered by the ADHD Health Clinic, including appointments, are chargeable unless otherwise stated. We require that payment for these services be made in full at least 7 days prior to your appointment. Details of our cancellation policy are also provided below for your reference.
When booking an appointment through our website, the full payment must be made immediately at the time of booking, or via the instalments option where payments can be made in 3 monthly instalments.
Consequences of Late Payments
Should we not receive your payment 7 days before the scheduled appointment, ADHD Health Clinic will cancel your appointment. If an appointment proceeds exceptionally without prior payment, you must pay any outstanding fees immediately after the service. We retain the right to initiate necessary actions to recover any unpaid dues.
Patient Obligations
It is the responsibility of each patient to ensure timely payment of fees. If you face difficulties with making payments on schedule, please get in touch with ADHD Health Clinic immediately. We may escalate outstanding balances that remain unsettled 30 days post-appointment to a collection agency.
Please be aware that ADHD Health Clinic accepts payments exclusively in British pounds (GBP).
We recognise that schedules can change, necessitating the cancellation or rescheduling of appointments.
Please inform us at least 72 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations or changes made with less than 72 hours’ notice will incur a 50% rebooking fee. If you choose not to reschedule and have pre-paid, please be aware that refunds are not available.
At the ADHD Health Clinic, we strive to process refunds promptly within the scope of our terms. Please allow up to 10 working days for the refund transaction to reflect on your bank statement.
Issuing any prescription is strictly at the discretion of your consulting psychiatrist, following a thorough consultation and in compliance with the prescribing standards set by the GMC, NICE, and the BNF.
During your initial assessment, prescriptions for medication will not be issued. If medication is deemed necessary, a prescription will only be provided after a follow-up appointment and upon reviewing the baseline tests and your GP’s records. This ensures adherence to safe prescribing practices as mandated by healthcare guidelines.
Medication Management
Treatment with medication may present risks, including side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and other potential complications. These risks may increase if you do not follow clinical guidelines or if you take more than the prescribed dosage. Non-compliance may lead the ADHD Health Clinic to terminate treatment immediately for your safety.
You have the right to discontinue treatment at your discretion. However, ceasing treatment against medical advice may result in serious risks, including side effects and withdrawal symptoms, for which you will bear full responsibility.
It is important to note that the cost of medication is not included in the fees for your assessment or follow-up appointments and must be paid directly to the pharmacy.
If you require a repeat prescription while on a stable medication dose, you must submit a repeat prescription request. An administration fee for repeat prescriptions is applicable and must be paid prior to the issuance of the prescription. This fee is exclusive of any additional charges from the pharmacy for the medication itself.
Delivery of Medication Prescriptions
The ADHD Health Clinic works with well-known pharmacies and will send prescriptions directly to them. The pharmacy will process your prescription and contact you within 72 hours to arrange delivery and payment for your medication. The pharmacy is responsible for sending you the medication. The ADHD Health Clinic cannot be held responsible for any delivery delays or issues at the pharmacy. Should a prescription be lost, damaged, or if the pharmacy cannot issue the medication due to unavailability, you must contact them immediately.
When you receive a prescription through the ADHD Health Clinic, please note that it will be a private prescription, not an NHS prescription. The cost of medication is determined by the pharmacy that dispenses it, and these charges are beyond the control of the ADHD Health Clinic.
It is important to note that prescriptions for controlled substances are valid for one month from the date they are issued and must be used within this timeframe.
All prescriptions issued by the ADHD Health Clinic are valid only at legally operating UK pharmacies. You acknowledge that any medication obtained is for your personal use only. You agree to carefully read all provided information and adhere strictly to the dosing instructions given by your psychiatrist, either on the medication label or otherwise. If you have questions or if the medication use and instructions are not clear, you are responsible for contacting your psychiatrist or consulting with another doctor or pharmacist for clarification.
Prior to your assessment, The ADHD Health Clinic requires that you provide your GP’s details. You are obliged to provide your GP’s name, address, and contact number on your pre-assessment form, and it is essential that this information remains current at all times. These details will be used solely in emergency situations or as mandated by law. In cases of emergencies or safeguarding concerns, The ADHD Health Clinic is legally obligated to inform your GP or any relevant healthcare provider to ensure your safety.
The ADHD Health Clinic disclaims any liability for damages or losses that may result from the failure to provide these details.
To provide treatment, we must share relevant information with your GP or other healthcare specialists as necessary.
Starting any ADHD medication requires preliminary baseline tests and a clinical examination, which the ADHD Health Clinic will discuss with you.
If you are pursuing a private assessment with the intention of continuing care through your NHS GP, it is important to consult with your GP beforehand to confirm their willingness to support subsequent testing, monitoring, and prescribing. GPs are not required to agree to such arrangements and may decline. We are not liable for any refusal from your GP. If your GP does not support these services, we recommend arranging them through an alternative provider.
The ADHD Health Clinic cannot guarantee that your GP will agree to a Shared Care Agreement. The ADHD Health Clinic typically uses the NHS England library of Shared Care Agreements, but we are also willing to adopt any local Shared Care Agreements that your GP may have, aligning with the specific protocols of your local area. If you enter into such an agreement with our clinic, you commit to bi-annual review appointments with your Consultant Psychiatrist to assess the effectiveness of your treatment. Regular attendance at these review appointments is important. Failure to attend these sessions as required will lead to the termination of the Shared Care Agreement and your discharge from the clinic.
Please be aware that if you do not attend an appointment within a 12-month period while undergoing active treatment, you will be considered an inactive patient and subsequently discharged from the ADHD Health Clinic. In such cases, we will also inform your GP of your discharge status.
If you have concerns or issues with any aspect of our services, we encourage you to first address these with your designated point of contact at the ADHD Health Clinic. Should your concerns remain unresolved, you are entitled to file a formal complaint. For guidance on how to proceed with a formal complaint, please refer to our Complaints Policy available here.
We handle your personal data in strict compliance with all applicable laws, including GDPR. Your information will be used solely for managing your assessment, treatment and ongoing care. By engaging with our services, you agree to our storage and processing of your data as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Maintaining the security and confidentiality of your data and information disclosed during assessments, including personal details and medical history, is a top priority at the ADHD Health Clinic. For further details please see our Confidentiality Policy.
There are instances where we might be legally compelled to share your personal information, such as if you reveal details that suggest a serious risk to yourself or others, potential acts of terrorism or serious crimes, or if there are child protection issues that mandate reporting under child protection legislation
The ADHD Health Clinic must, by legal mandate, retain your information for a minimum of 11 years after your discharge or the date of your most recent appointment. Although GDPR mandates that records should not be held longer than necessary, certain circumstances, such as the potential for a claim or a serious incident, may justify extended retention of records. Therefore, each record will be carefully evaluated before any secure destruction is undertaken.
