Dr Laitan Adewunmi is a Psychiatrist with over 14 years of experience across Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
She has over 9 years of experience working within NHS mental health services and a broad clinical background in the assessment and management of complex mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions.
She has extensive experience undertaking specialist ADHD and neurodevelopmental assessments for children and adolescents, including diagnostic formulation using DSM 5 criteria and the assessment of coexisting mental health difficulties. She is experienced in initiating and monitoring ADHD medication treatment in line with NICE guidance and has particular expertise in assessing complex presentations involving anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, behavioural difficulties, psychosis and trauma related difficulties.
She is known for her calm, compassionate, and approachable manner and for creating a supportive environment where patients feel listened to, understood, and empowered. Her clinical approach is neurodiversity affirming, culturally responsive, and collaborative, with a strong focus on helping individuals better understand their difficulties, recognise their strengths, and achieve meaningful and lasting change.
