Dr Blerta Cenko Bio

Dr Cenko is a Consultant General Adult psychiatrist with over a decade of experience. Currently working both in the NHS in a prestigious London Trust. She offers a holistic ADHD assessment type assessing not only ADHD but also other mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety and manages these conditions as well.

She supports adults across the lifespan with a range of mental health difficulties, including ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, and psychosis. She also has particular expertise in assessing and managing dementia and complex presentations in older adults.

Dr Cenko takes a thorough, formulation-led approach to assessment, aiming to understand each person in the context of their life, health, and experiences. She works collaboratively with patients to develop personalised treatment plans, which may include psychological, social, and medical approaches. Her work with older adults focuses on early and accurate diagnosis of dementia, managing coexisting physical and mental health conditions, and supporting independence and quality of life.

With over 10 years of experience across NHS and educational settings, Dr Cenko combines a strong clinical background with ongoing academic involvement. She graduated with Honours in Medicine in Albania and initially worked as a General Practitioner before specialising in psychiatry. She later completed a Master’s degree with Merit in Dementia: Causes, Treatment and Research at University College London (UCL).

Alongside her clinical work, she contributes to research and has published in international peer-reviewed journals. She is also actively involved in teaching and mentorship, supporting trainee doctors and contributing to the education of UCL medical students and North Central London psychiatry trainees.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr Cenko has a strong interest in global mental health and population-level psychiatry. She has collaborated with organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and World Vision on public health initiatives, gaining experience in cross-cultural approaches to psychiatric care.

She is known for her warm, thoughtful, and holistic approach. She places great importance on clear communication and aims to ensure that patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in decisions about their care. She offers consultations in both English and Albanian
